What to know about Sanyo lifts

Sanyo is a brand Portal works with directly, without a chain of intermediaries. In practice this changes more than it might seem from the outside. We agree the specification with the factory, not with a trader relaying our questions further down the line. Changes to the car or controls can be made until the order goes into production. And the price does not pick up a mark-up from every successive reseller.

Supply comes as a complete package: car, doors, traction machine, controller, guide rails - all from one source. For installers this is crucial. What eats up the most time on site is not the installation itself but matching components from different suppliers when the connectors do not fit and nobody is responsible. The manufacturer also makes escalators, so on a commercial project all the vertical transport is covered by a single delivery.

The flip side of working directly is that the responsibility is ours too. A mistake in the shaft dimensions cannot be fixed with a call to the supplier: the order goes back to the factory, and that is lost time. So we take the measurements ourselves and check the drawings twice before confirming. And we build the delivery into the construction schedule in advance, not once the shaft is ready.

Who it does not suit: a client who needs a global corporation's name on the documents, or anyone who needed the lift yesterday. Who it suits: a project where the cost estimate is watched closely but the client wants the supplier to stand behind the equipment after handover too. We take on maintenance of these lifts - across Western Ukraine and, on call, further afield.
