MP panoramic lift with a glass car in a building atrium

For a lift company, choosing a manufacturer is not a decision for a single project. A lift stays in a building for twenty-five years, and throughout that time someone has to maintain it, source spare parts and reprogram the controller after a board is replaced. That is why we do not judge the manufacturers we offer to clients by their catalogues: we compare quotations for the same configuration, certificates, lead times, service terms and how open the controller is. MP from Seville passes this test. Below we explain why we recommend it and what a client can expect from an MP lift installed by us.

Who MP are

MP, full name MAC PUAR S.A., is a family-owned company from Andalusia. It started in 1970 as a maker of electromechanical lift components and has been producing complete lifts since the late 1990s. Its head office is in the Cartuja technology park in Seville. There are two factories: the Seville plant makes automatic doors, hydraulics and electronics, while the Zaragoza plant assembles lifts, cars and frames and serves as the logistics centre; that is where our shipments come from.

The scale: about 5,000 new lifts and 1,500 modernizations a year, 165,000 lifts installed worldwide, more than 1,200 employees, and subsidiaries in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, the Netherlands, France and Belgium. Most of the output is sold outside Spain. One more detail matters to us: in 2024 MP's management publicly announced that the company had stopped selling to the Russian market. We do not deal with manufacturers that operate there, and this position of ours does not change.

What exactly we checked

Everyone has a nice catalogue. We looked at what shapes a lift's life after handover.

In-house components, not an assembly of third-party parts

The ecoGO controller with a built-in variable frequency drive is MP's own design, and the electronics are made in Seville. The maGO traction machine is MP's own gearless unit, with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and a German encoder; its brake also serves as protection against unintended car movement. Doors, cars, frames and counterweights are made in-house too. When all components come from one manufacturer, they are matched to each other at the factory, and you do not have to hunt for spare parts from five different suppliers.

An open controller

For us, this point is decisive. MP's controller is open: our crew carries out commissioning, and we receive full access to diagnostics, programming and documentation together with the equipment. The remote monitoring platform lets us read the lift's status, event log and parameters from the office, update firmware and reset faults without a site visit. Automatic rescue to the nearest landing in the event of a power failure is built into the controller, and the emergency communication from the car works over the mobile network. For the client, this means something simple: they are not tied for twenty-five years to a single service provider holding a proprietary access key.

Certificates you can actually read

The factory holds EU certificates from TÜV Italia, notified body number 0948, under the Lifts Directive 2014/33/EU: modules H1, D, E and H. In plain terms, an independent body has checked not only type samples but also the production quality system, so every lift leaves the factory with a declaration of conformity. The lifts are designed to EN 81-20/50; for tight shafts there is an EN 81-21 version with a reduced pit and headroom, and fire-rated landing doors comply with EN 81-58. The base model's energy efficiency is class A under ISO 25745-2.

Spare parts and training

The manufacturer's service portal stocks more than 6,000 items, critical spare parts are shipped the same day, and courier delivery to Ukraine takes four to six days. The factory trains its partners' installation and service teams at its own sites in Europe, on the same equipment that is later installed on projects.

Product range

The core model is MP GO, a machine-room-less lift for 320-1600 kg, with speeds of 1.0, 1.6 or 2.5 m/s and up to 32 stops. This is what residential buildings, offices and hotels need most often. Alongside it is the Flex series for existing buildings: it fits non-standard or very tight shafts, allows a pit of just a few tens of centimetres, and offers entrances on two or three sides of the car.

  • MP GO Room and the V series - for complete replacements that keep the machine room, with gearless or geared drive.
  • Hydro H - hydraulic lifts for low-rise buildings with a travel of up to 15 metres.
  • Mega - large cars for 2000-6500 kg for shopping centres, hospitals and industrial facilities.
  • Hospital lifts for 1000-2500 kg, sized for 90 and 100 cm wide beds with accompanying staff.
  • Goods lifts and car lifts for car parks, warehouses and car showrooms.
  • Panoramic car - available as an option for any series, with glass walls and doors.
  • MP MOBI accessibility platform lift for 2-6 floors in a self-supporting structure.
  • COLINA, SIERRA and PONT series escalators and moving walks under the MP brand: we confirm the factory and country of manufacture for each specific project.
We have written separately about the Mobi hydraulic platform lift for homes and small public buildings: MP Mobi home lift.

For buildings without a lift, the factory also offers its own steel shaft structure that can be installed outside the building. We build such shafts ourselves, and our project in Chernivtsi is exactly that, but it is handy to have the factory option in reserve.

What ordering with us looks like

First, the site survey. A Portal engineer visits the site and measures the shaft or, if there is no shaft yet, agrees on an external add-on one, and clarifies the number of stops, load, doors and wishes for the car. The survey is free of charge.

Next comes configuration. An MP lift is put together in the factory configurator: we enter the parameters, and the factory returns a technical summary and drawings. We never sign off drawings on the first round: for the panoramic lift in Ivano-Frankivsk there were three revisions before the floor levels, guide rail fixings and control cabinet position all matched. Once approved, the factory puts the lift into production, which takes six to nine weeks.

A few details we take care of that clients usually do not think about. The voice announcer in the car has to speak Ukrainian: the factory sends a list of phrases, and we prepare the audio files and display texts ourselves; for a three-stop panoramic lift that comes to 114 messages. Floor designations on the buttons, displays and voice announcements must match what the floors are called in the building, and this too is agreed before production, not after. Car finishes, glass type and flooring are chosen from samples.

Then logistics and paperwork. One lift takes up six to seven linear metres of a lorry, and delivery from Zaragoza plus customs clearance takes about two weeks. The lift arrives with an EU declaration of conformity and a certificate of origin; after installation it undergoes conformity assessment under Ukraine's Technical Regulation on Lift Safety, and we prepare the documents for putting it into operation. Installation and commissioning are done by our crew, the manufacturer's warranty is 24 months, and ongoing maintenance is ours too.

MP panoramic lift in Ivano-Frankivsk

We are currently preparing a 630 kg, three-stop MP panoramic lift for a public building in Ivano-Frankivsk: a glass car with tinted walls, glass doors in a stainless steel frame, a granite floor, a maGO gearless traction machine and an ecoGO controller with automatic rescue. The shaft will be a glazed steel frame of our own manufacture, and the lift will be visible from every side. That is why this project needs a manufacturer whose cars and doors are right not only in photos.

The production lead time is six weeks from approval of the drawings and the advance payment. After installation and handover, the project will appear in the "Our Projects" section with our own photos, not catalogue ones.

What this means for the client

  • A European lift with a full set of certificates, installed and maintained by one company from site survey to warranty.
  • An open controller: service is not tied to one contractor, and diagnostics can be done remotely.
  • Spare parts from the manufacturer's warehouse in four to six days, not "to order, next quarter".
  • Car and doors tailored to the building: panoramic version, stainless steel, glass, stone, flooring and lighting chosen from samples.
  • Ukrainian in the car and on the displays straight from the factory, not as stickers added after installation.

We do not publish prices for MP lifts on the website, as with the rest of our equipment: the cost depends on the shaft, number of stops, speed, doors and finishes. We will only say that, in our comparisons, MP ranks among the best European manufacturers for value for money. The engineer will give you a specific figure for your project after the site survey.

Quick answers

Related questions

How does an MP lift differ from other European lifts?

The controller, variable frequency drive, traction machine, doors and car are all made by the factory itself, and the controller is open to the service company. EU certificates from TÜV Italia cover all conformity assessment modules. For the client, this means components that work together, available spare parts and no dependence on a single contractor holding a proprietary access key.

How long does it take from order to start-up of an MP lift?

Six to nine weeks of production after the drawings are approved and the advance payment is made, about two weeks for delivery and customs, then installation and commissioning on site. Overall, allow three to four months; the exact schedule depends on how ready the shaft is.

Can I order an MP panoramic lift in a glass shaft?

Yes. A panoramic car is an option for the standard MP series, and we either build the glazed shaft ourselves or use the factory's steel structure. We are currently preparing an MP lift like this for Ivano-Frankivsk: panoramic, 630 kg, with glass doors and tinted walls.

Who will maintain the MP lift after handover?

Portal Lift Company. We install the lift, hand it over, prepare the documents for putting it into operation and take it on for maintenance. Spare parts arrive from the manufacturer's warehouse in four to six days, and the engineer resolves some issues remotely via the monitoring platform.
